The City of Sydney and The Clothing Exchange are joining eco-friendly forces to bring a clothes swap for the whole family to Tramsheds.
Give great clothes a second life and find something new at our community clothes swap at Tramsheds, Forest Lodge. Bring up to 5 items of clothing in excellent condition and exchange them for clothing you'll love and wear again.
This free event is open to City of Sydney residents only. Tickets are essential.
Come on your own or bring friends. You'll swap with other locals who love fashion, sustainability and giving great clothing a second life.

Clothes check-in:
10:45am to 11:45am
Arrive anytime during the check-in window to have your clothes assessed and receive swap tokens. Each accepted item earns one token that can be exchanged for another item during the swap.
Once you've checked in, you can enjoy a coffee, browse Tramsheds or meet fellow swappers before the swap begins.
Swap starts:
12pm
Running late?
If you arrive after 11:45am, you'll need to wait until after 12pm to check in your clothes and join the swap.
What to bring
Bring up to 5 items of clothing in excellent condition, for any size, gender or age.
As we’re heading into warmer weather, please bring spring or summer clothing that people can enjoy now. This could include T-shirts, shirts, blouses, lightweight jackets, dresses, skirts, shorts and other lighter pieces.
Excellent condition means:
clean and freshly laundered
free from stains, rips or holes
free from pilling or other significant signs of wear
something you would happily give to a friend.
Accepted items include:
tops, shirts, blouses and jackets
pants, jeans and shorts
skirts, dresses and suits
belts, bags and shoes
scarves, ties and hats.
All styles and brands are welcome, from everyday favourites to designer labels, provided they are in excellent condition.
Every accepted item is worth 1 swap token, regardless of its brand or original value. Designer items may be brought along by other swappers, but there is no guarantee designer clothing or accessories will be offered on the day.
What not to bring
All items are checked before being placed on the swap floor. If an item is not suitable, you may be asked to take it home.
Please do not bring:
jewellery or wigs
underwear, socks or swimwear
sportswear or activewear
items that are stained, torn or unclean
items that are heavily worn, pilled, frayed or damaged

Our clothes swap events are popular and can feel lively and busy, especially when the swap begins. Our team will be available to explain how the swap works, answer questions and help you get started.
