Did you know that six tonnes of clothing are thrown out every 10 minutes? Let’s slow down fast fashion and have some fun at the same time!
Nillumbik Shire Council and Yarra Plenty Regional Library invite you to a sustainable style revolution. Bring along up to 6 garments or accessories that no longer bring you joy, and exchange them for exciting "new to you" pieces. It’s exactly like a shopping spree—without the cash!

Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM (Strict timeline applies, see schedule below)

Cost: FREE * Capacity: 110 total places available
⏰ Timeline & How It Works
To ensure everyone gets a fair turn to shop, the event follows a strict schedule. Please arrive on time!
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM | The Drop Off & Screening Bring your items to the check-in desk. Our team will screen your garments. For every accepted item, you will receive 1 token to use as currency later. Please note: If you arrive after 3:00 PM, we may not be able to accept your items.
3:00 PM | The Swap Opens! The floor opens! Browse the racks and use your tokens to "buy" your new wardrobe pieces (1 token = 1 item).
4:00 PM | Event Concludes
🎒 What to Bring (and What to Leave at Home)
What to Bring:
Up to 6 high-quality garments or accessories. We accept all sizes and genders!
Your own reusable shopping bags to take your new treasures home.
Quality Guidelines:
Garments must be clean, washed, and have plenty of life left in them. We cannot accept items that are:
❌ Stained or smelly
❌ Torn or holey
❌ Pilled
⚠️ Important Rules:
Adults Only: This is an adult clothing swap. We cannot accept children's clothing.
No Take-Backs: Once you exchange your clothes for tokens, you cannot change your mind and ask for them back. Due to the high volume of clothing, we cannot hunt down specific items once they hit the racks. Please make sure you are ready to part with them!
