We’re holding a clothing swap! Join us to refresh your wardrobe and help reduce waste
In Australia, six tonnes of clothing are thrown away every 10 minutes — let’s slow this down and have fun while doing it!
Join Moonee Valley’s first clothing swap on Saturday 11 October at Maribyrnong Park Bowls Club. Bring up to eight good-quality items (clothes, shoes, belts, bags, etc.) you no longer wear and swap them for something “new-to-you” — all for free!
How it works
10–11am: Drop off your washed, undamaged items (no kids’ clothing, underwear, activewear, costumes, or damaged/unclean garments) & get a token for each eligible item.
Enjoy free coffee or tea from Blak Brews, biscuits from Helping Hands, and watch Assembled Threads sewing demos while you wait.
11am–12pm: Use your tokens to “buy” your fresh finds!
What to bring
Your items, a keep cup, and a bag for your new treasures.
Please note, garments must be of good quality and free from stains, holes, pilling and smells with plenty of wear left in them. Items will be screened during drop off before being exchanged for tokens.
Unaccepted items include children’s clothing, wigs, underwear, socks, swimwear, activewear, costumes and damaged or unclean items.
Please remember, once you have swapped your items for a token, we are not able to return the item.
Registrations are free but essential as the event is limited to 100 participants.
