The Clothing Exchange has partnered with OXFAM Australia to share the ‘What She Makes’ message for a high impact clothing swap on July 5th, 2018.
The collaborative initiative is designed to bring consumer awareness to the working conditions female garment workers experience and allow you the opportunity to sign the pledge for big brands to pay a fairer working wage.
While these household brands are enjoying big revenues, women making our clothes are trapped in a cycle of poverty, paid as little as 39 cents (AU) an hour. As a swapper you will be able to learn how you can support a fairer fashion future and walk away with fashionable new additions to your wardrobe guilt free!
To make this swap extra memorable, bring up to six items that are locally made, designer, vintage or fabulous, in one way or another. Please research the campaign company tracker here and avoid swapping these low rated brands. And lastly, make sure you are emotionally detached from the items, as anything left over will be collected by the Red Cross.
Amazing reasons to attend!:
1) Sign the pledge and support fairer working conditions for female garment workers
2) Refresh your wardrobe with up to 6 new items! – for only $25.00
