The Clothing Exchange is proud to host a Free Hobart Clothes Swap in collaboration with the Hobart City Council this Mother’s Day. This is the first council swap of it's kind in Hobart!
Did you know that 6 tonnes of clothing are thrown out every 10 minutes? Let’s slow this down and have fun at the same time!
Tasmanian host Susannah Slatter said The Clothing Exchange puts the fun back into recycling.
“Demand is strong owing to the ongoing trend of supporting sustainable, ethical and environmentally sound business practices and I’m thrilled that the Hobart City Council is leading the way and getting involved" she said.
While people attend the event seeking a wardrobe update, they often find themselves equally elated by the prospect of seeing their unwanted clothes getting a new lease on life and feel good taking part in collective action for sustainable development.
The Clothing Exchange will be held on Sunday 13 May at the Hobart Town Hall. Clothes are checked-in at 1pm and the swap begins at 2pm. This is a free event but bookings are essential – email firstname.lastname@example.org to book.
